50-Hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training - July 4th to 8th, 2022
This 50-hour, in-person training is a 1-week immersion that supports you in creating your own trauma-informed restorative yoga practices while preparing you to share restorative yoga with others in yoga classes and 1-1 clinical settings. Onsite childcare is available.

About the Event
This 50-hour training in Restorative Yoga is an experience that is created for healers to heal themselves. During our 5 days together, you will be immersed in experiencing deep rest and connection with your body through the Embodiment Yoga Therapy methodology which is body neutral and trauma-informed.
Those with small children are encouraged to attend as onsite child care is available to you through kinderstudios.ca.

How to listen to the body and build tools for responding with movement and stillness
How to adapt postures for the body based on physical, emotional, and nervous system needs
How to create deeply restful restorative postures and how to sequence them in a meditative flow
How to facilitate the meditative dialogue that allows you and your students to drop into PRESENCE
How to use these sessions as a somatic tool for use in other therapeutic modalities
How to recognize dissociation, How to Educate Clients, and How to apply the breaks when needed
How to invite Interoceptive and Exteroceptive awareness into your sessions
How to dance with the nervous system's own regulation by working with what is present
How to invite OJAS - the wisdom of Ayurveda, the Earth Element, and Root Chakra Healing
How to invite regulation, safety, and grounding
What to expect and what to bring . . .
This training will be held at the Glenmore Community Association in the Lakeview community of Calgary, AB. A grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, and a cafe are all within walking distance from the facility and the center has available a fridge and microwave for you to use. Students are expected to bring their own food, water bottle, layered clothing, and notebook with pen.
Some props will be available on site but we encourage you to bring, if possible: yoga bolsters, yoga blocks, and foldable blankets.

You will be provided with a manual for this training and are also required to purchase the book Restorative Yoga with Assists by Sue Flamm.
This 5-day in-person immersion will provide participants with a 50-hour certification in Restorative Yoga. Participants may take this training on its own or can apply these hours toward our 200-hour Embodiment Yoga Teacher Training that begins in October of 2022. Continuing Education and YACEP credits are available with the following bodies: Canadian Yoga Alliance, Yoga Alliance, and National Health Practitioners of Canada.
