Yoga and Pilates Classes Offered at Mandorla  (all classes 1 hour in length unless otherwise noted)

Our signature yoga classes based on the Elements:

Earth

This grounding class is inspired by the Earth element and focuses on nourishing the root chakra. Focus is slow, deliberate and thoughtful with an emphasis on standing postures and deep stretching. The intent of this class is to make you feel secure and safe both on and off the yoga mat and is highly suggested for anyone dealing with anxiety.

Water

This creative class is connected with the sacral chakra. Emphasis is placed on freedom, movement and creativity. The intent of this class is to free up the body and encourage change and a little flexibility especially in our legs, hips and low back.

Fire

This heat building class focuses on the Fire element and the power chakra. Students are lead through sun salutations, standing sequences and balancing poses as they explore the core of their bodies. The intent of this class is to build strength, will power and confidence.

Air

In this relaxing yet upper body strengthening class, participants will experience deep breathing techniques in a flowing asana (yoga poses) practice. This class is connected with opening the heart chakra and is wonderful for increasing flexibility, gaining strength and even alleviating depression.  Develop self awareness and learn to love yourself and others more deeply.

Ether

Ether is the 5th Element and deals with feeling deeply connected with yourself and those around you.  We do not offer a weekly yoga class that pertains to this element but rather a 21 week program that you can do on your own or in a course format.  Stefani wrote a comprehensive manual that is over 200 pages for this course meant to help you develop your own practice.

Hot Yoga

This practice while not as aggressive as our Kick Your Asana practice will definitely make you sweat as the practice is done in a heated room.  Feel your body open up in new and amazing ways as your muscles become more supple and your body detoxifies from the inside out. 

Kick Your Asana, an Ashtanga Inspired Practice

This invigorating class based on the Ashtanga Primary Series and Stefani's personal yoga practice will make you sweat! Sun salutations are combined with a vigorous series of postures that challenge the entire body ranging from standing poses, core work, arm balances and inversions. Unlike every other class taught at the studio, the Kick Your Asana class is a repetitive sequence that is practiced every time so that you are able to see your body progress and change.

Kick Your Asana for Beginners

This gentle version of Kick Your Asana is to ease you into the practice.  Detailed instruction is given at a slower pace with a different focus highlighted each week with time allotted for mastering the posture or sequence. 

Prana

The purpose of having a yoga practice is twofold; to create space in the body for more prana (vitality, life force) to be stored in the body and to strengthen the body to be able to keep it there.  In this intuitive, prasara style class we enter into a creative flow of poses and let go of structure and stress while embracing the enjoyment of being in the moment and being fully in the body. 

Restorative

In this 45 min. class we position ourselves into delicious supported yoga poses with the use of props and blankets and allow gravity to ease tension from our bodies. 

Breathe, Meditate, Sing

In this fun 45 min. class we explore chanting, yogic breathing techniques and meditation. 

Pilates Mat

Pilates is an overall body fitness giving elongated supple muscles, and balance between body and mind, with all the parts of a person working as a whole. Pilates workouts focus first on developing strength through the core of the body–the back, abdomen and hips. Pilates gives practitioners improved posture, increased lung capacity, and strong, sculpted muscles. Its emphasis on all around, complete fitness supports a variety of fitness goals, from building strength to increasing flexibility. Most notably it is an excellent way to lose weight and tone the body.

Private Yoga Sessions are available for those wishing to hone in their skills in a specific area such as meditation, breathing  or alignment.  For those wishing to pursue a tailored practice we offer yoga therapy sessions that design a practice for you based on the needs of the whole person, physical, emotional and spiritual.

Private Pilates Sessions are available for those who wish to take their practice to the next level and see results.
