Yoga therapy sessions address the physical and energy level in which we incorporate anatomically therapeutic alignment techniques, yoga postures, and breathing exercises to bring the body into optimal postural alignment; heal physical injuries from misalignment, accident and/or strain; and learn correct techniques to prevent future injuries.

Healing on the Psycho-Emotional Level:

We take yoga therapy to the next level in body-mind healing, using powerful tools to connect with our deeper emotions, release tension and negative resistance. The physical body is giving us messages from our emotional-self  and is a reflection of our belief systems and thoughts; therefore in order to completely heal and realign our body, we must also bring our mind and spirit into a state of balance and wholeness.

Healing on the Spiritual Level:

Yoga has been an effective vehicle for self-healing and self-exploration for thousands of years. There are many levels beyond the physical body, which we can bring into awareness. The physical-energy-body and psycho-emotional-body is a mirror image of our spirit, and our connection to something greater than ourselves. Through guided meditation and visualization techniques we can take to our healing to a higher level in a secure and sacred space, and discover our inner power and true Self.

Many people ask what the difference is between a private yoga session and a yoga therapy session.  A private yoga session follows a preset format, like following a recipe for a  cake . . . more educational in its intention, the teacher will teach you on a very specific topic that you wish to learn such as meditation, breath work or alignment.  In yoga therapy, your personal goals, needs and wants are considered and a practice is designed and tailored to those needs.  After your first session your yoga plan is put together in a typed format with detailed instructions for you to take home. In short, private yoga sessions will focus on one specific topic while yoga therapy will address everything that the therapist feels that you need from nutritional assistance, yoga massage, yoga postures, breath work and meditation.
