Pilates Mat is a method of body control that strengthens and conditions the muscles while improving flexibility and balance. It is a series of mat exercises that focus on core muscles, with resistance training, the use of toning and stability balls, and other pilates tools for intermediate students.
Your core muscles (abdominals, low back, hips gluteals, and thighs) are the power house to the extremities of the body. When these muscle groups are out of shape and weak you may find yourself prone to injury and experience a greater loss of overall mobility.
When the Core is strengthened your posture improves, your muscles tone, and your self–esteem improves as you experience an increase in strength and ability. Pilates is a great way to improve, encourage, and keep the correct alignment of the spine and skeletal system for better health and a greater sense of well-being!
